ENDOCRINE DISRUPTORS: TOWARDS MORE ROBUST ASSESSMENT METHODS
During the Cosmeticdays congress on June 21 & 22, 2018, organized by Cosmed, Professor Patrice Rat, with the agreement of the Ministry of the Environment, presented a preview of the framework of the PEPPER project (Platform for Prevalidation of ‘test to characterize Endocrine Disruptors).
This French initiative with a European vocation is based on 3 pillars:
1- Science: Identification and Pre-validation of methods for detecting the PE properties of substances by carrying out tests on several substances and between several laboratories
2 – Confidence: Restoration of the confidence of the public and consumers in assessing the risks associated with placing products on the market
3 – Valuation: Scientifically robust pre-validation for peer recognition and / or validation by official regulatory or standardization bodies (ECVAM, OECD, CEN / ISO).
